After enjoying a successful amateur career and attending the University of South Florida in Tampa, Nilsmark turned professional in 1987. She recording her first of two LET wins in 1994, and only LPGA Tour victory in 1999. From 1992 to 2000 she represented Europe in the Solheim Cup five times. In 2003 Nilsmark captained the European Solheim Cup team to success at Barsebäck G&CC in Sweden, but lost as non-playing captain two years later at Crooked Stick in Indiana.

Played as the Valley of the Stars Championship (Feb 12-14). Nilsmark (Swe) beat Annika Sörenstam (Swe) with a par at the first playoff hole, to win her only LPGA Tour event. [Oakmont CC, Glendale, nr Los Angeles, California].

Played as the Evian Masters (June 9-12; LET major ch'ship). Second-placed Laura Davies (Eng) finished 2 shots behind Nilsmark (Swe), who recorded her second European Ladies' PGA Tour win. [Evian Masters GC, Evian-les-Bains, France; at the time known as Royal GC Evian].

Played as the Ford Golf Classic (April 21-24; Women's Pro Golf Eurpn Tr season-opener). Second-placed Joanne Morley (Eng) and Trish Johnson (Eng) finished 4 shots behind 26-year-old Nilsmark (Swe), who recorded her first win on the Women's Professional Golf European Tour. [Duchess course, Woburn GC, nr Milton Keynes, Bucks].
The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.
