23 km S of Chonburi

Crystal Bay Golf Club

3-PLUS: Good course - several memorable features; worthy of 3½ stars.

Est. 1988

Crystal Bay Golf Club: The occupants of three towering condominium blocks, which are adjacent to this pleasant parkland golf course, may benefit from stunning sea views (the beach is only two kilometres away). However, it is the abundance of water hazards on the course, rather than anything off it that will mainly be in your view.

On this attractive and generally well-maintained 27-hole layout, each of the three nines, A, B or C, will provide both a challenging and an enjoyable round. The gently undulating and usually good-width fairways are lightly lined with palm trees, earthmounding and not overly penal semi-rough.

Ball finding from wayward tee-shots should not be a problem, providing an array of perimeter lagoons and internal small lakes and ponds are avoided. Good quality, attractive bunkering usually guards the greens, which are often large and well-contoured.

The C-course brings you closest to a picturesque line of small jungle-clad hills that flank the course on one side, while the B-course contains the signature hole. This challenging par-3 is played over water to a small green, which is fronted by two deep bunkers and between them a substantial rockery.
