From the centre of Cape Town, take the N2 and then M3 highways, and follow the M3 right to the end (approx 17 km). Turn right onto the M42 (Steenberg Road) and head west direction Tokai. Follow road for approx 2.5 km to Steeberg entrance.

Steenberg Golf Estate: Nestling down in the Constantia Valley wine-growing region, with the Constantiaberg mountains as a splendid backdrop, the golf course at Steenberg is an integral part of a centuries old wine estate. Located on the estate's eastern side, the expansive 18-hole championship layout, roams its way through the vineyards and more recently established housing development.
Always well-maintained, and occupying relatively flat terrain (with a few modest elevation changes), this relatively open parkland layout contains many attractive dog-legging par-4s and well-defended par-3s. Although real estate now flanks the majority of holes, it seldom intrudes on your game, leaving you to enjoy the relatively wide fairways and generous band of not overly penal semi-rough.
Bunkers, sandy waste areas, ponds and a small meandering stream will all potentially play their part in proceedings. Water and sand hazards sometimes pose a dual-threat, especially at the opening and closing holes of the back-nine, and not least at the par-3 7th. This very good short hole is played to a good-size green completely encircled by a bunker; water awaits seriously wayward shots and anything hit too long.
At just over 7000 yards from the back-tees, and with its impressive array of hazards, Steenberg will thoroughly test and challenge your game. Meanwhile the surrounding vineyards could have you musing on which excellent Constantia Valley wine to drink in the evening - Steenberg of course!

Steenberg (meaning mountain of stone) is the oldest wine farm on the Cape Peninsula, dating back to the days of Simon van der Stel. The original land grant for the farm was allocated to Catharina Ustings Ras by Governor van der Stel.
Catharina was a controversial character of pioneering spirit, who as a young widow had left her native Germany to undertake the perilous journey to the tip of Africa. Although she settled on the farm in 1682, an official mandate was only granted to her in 1688 "to cultivate, to plough, to sow and to possess" the land. She first named it Swaaneweide - the feeding place of swans. More recently the estate has been expanded to include a significant housing development, a hotel and the championship golf course.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
