Where2Golf says:
The superb Championship course here at Abu Dhabi Golf Club has more in common with a top quality Spanish / Portuguese parkland course, than with something hewn from the middle eastern desert. Within the tree-lined perimeter, its often hard to imagine you are playing a desert course. The overall presentation is immaculate. An excellent array of (not overly penal) water hazards, terrific bunkering and fabulous greens provide all the characteristics you'd expect from a top quality European Tour venue. Nicely rolling fairways are bordered by quite generous amounts of lush, grassy semi-rough - there isn't really any deep rough to worry about. Beyond that the sandy waste areas are adorned with all manner of small trees, palms and flowering shrubs - distinctly more in keeping with a spacious parkland course than with the open feel of, for example, an Arizona desert courses (and you'll not find any cacti here !). Each hole has been wonderfully crafted by Peter Harradine, ensuring your round is full of challenge, interest and regular glimpses of the spectacular "swooping falcon" clubhouse. Without doubt, here is one of the golfing jewels in the Emirates crown.
