The Gallery Golf Club

4+ (4 gold): one of our top-rated 4-star courses, worthy of 4½ stars.
The Gallery Golf Club Est. 1998

Where2Golf says:

Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain: This private golf club (which allows some outside visitor play) is home to two unforgettable courses. The Gallery's North course, designed by John Fought and Tom Lehman, is ranked amongst the very best in Arizona. Sweeping High Sonoran views in every direction can be enjoyed as the nines meander through two rugged canyons. The result is 18 wonderful holes that are as enjoyable to play for the higher handicap golfer as they are challenging for the touring professional.

The John Fought designed South course differs from the North in both terrain and architecture. The South's linksy style is in many ways reminiscent of Donald Ross’ Pinehurst No.2 layout. The Gallery South course has played host to the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship. Both North and South courses begin and end at The Gallery’s award-winning clubhouse.

Tournaments:
The American Express formerly known as the Desert Classic, and for many years played as the Bob Hope Desert Classic, will once again be decided on the Pete Dye designed Stadium course at PGA West (Jan 16-19).
The Players Championship:  for the 39th time, TPC Sawgrass, another iconic Pete Dye design, will host The Players Championship for one of the richest first prizes in world golf (March 12-15).

Who's Who:
Pete Dye:  one of the greatest golf course architects of this or any generation passes away aged 94. His contribution to golf course design, and the legacy he leaves is immense.
Jack Nicklaus:  like Pete Dye a native of Ohio, actually started his golf course design career working together with Dye. In 1967 Dye asked Nicklaus to input to his design for The Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio. Two years later they worked together on the revered Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina.
