Where2Golf says:

Ocotillo Golf Resort is home to a course that is quite unlike the majority of layouts you will find in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. With lush fairways, water in play on 24 of its 27 holes, and many tall trees and colourful flora lining the holes, there is a distinctly Floridian rather than Arizonan feel to this layout. The Blue, Gold and White nine-hole loops each contain a fine array of water features and hazards, not least, cascading waterfalls and countless small lakes and ponds. Good quality bunkering and pleasant undulation changes also feature strongly, as you progress down the good-width fairways towards well-defended and generally rather small greens. The holes, either individually or more usually in pairs, weave their way through many luxury homes, although a band of water or good width of grassy rough keeps the houses at a discreet distance and generally out of harm's way. The Blue-Gold combination plays as the most difficult, with a rating of 72.2 and slope of 133 from the back tees. The tree-fringed, island-green par-3 3rd (White) is one of many very attractive holes spread throughout the 27. Ocotillo's picturesque and plentiful water features, lush grassy fairways and luxury villas are guaranteed to give you an enjoyable and challenging golf experience, and certainly something a bit different from the classic desert courses of Phoenix and Scottsdale.
