Ossie Pickworth, who was the very first professional at Cranbourne Golf Club, is synonymous with Australian golf. Ossie set a record in winning three consecutive Australian Opens in 1946, 1947 and 1948 (a record which Greg Norman failed to equal at the 1997 Australian Open at Metropolitan).
