Palmer Gold Coast
Palmer Gold Coast (formerly known as Robina Woods Golf Course) is home to a well-rated and always popular layout. This tree-lined parkland course should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy.
The rolling fairways are set amongst stands of towering eucalypts, as well as a natural meandering lake and one or two good size ponds. Each hole has its own character, and challenge.
The memorable par-5 18th is played from an elevated tee with three threatening water hazards to avoid along the way. There's plenty of golfing challenge in this well-maintained and well-crafted design. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
Walking permitted at all times.
Good
Alongside the golf course is the very small St Andrews Heritage Old Church, which dates from 1883 and is now a popular venue for weddings and baptisms.
Also in the backdrop to the wonderful par-5 18th hole, is the pagoda-like structure of Palmer Gold Coast's three-tier clubhouse, and a couple of miles beyond the course a somewhat larger building - the 77-storey QI Tower. Located in Surfer's Paradise, the tower is the tallest residential tower building in the southern hemisphere.
