Golf de Falnuée: Nestling in a natural environment near Mazy, this well-maintained and undulating course straddles the Orneau river valley. Laid out in open countryside and more wooded areas, this pleasant layout is accentuated by a wonderfully varied collection of testing par-3 holes.
Water and/or OB are frequent companions on your way round, reinforcing the need for careful course management ( ... a strokesaver may help on your first outing). The front-nine, which now starts with a testing par-5, occupies one side of a small river valley, the back-nine the other side.
Throughout, the inherent challenges of Falnuee require the need for straight hitting from the tee, and good distance management given the frequent elevation changes. The long, flat par-5 18th offers a relatively easier holes on which to close out your round.
Falnuee provides a good challenge for golfers of all levels as well as a thoroughly pleasant walk through some fine rural countryside. Once a year it tests the skills of Belgium's best club golfers, with the staging of the Club Champion of Champions tournament (known as the Belgian Masters).

Good
Running through the golf course at Falnuée is the Orneau river, a tributary of the Sambre, and therefore a sub-tributary of the River Meuse (or Maas in Flemish).
Falnuée's clubhouse occupies a wonderful former chateau-farm that dates back to at least the 14th century. The bar is located in the former stables and incorporates some wonderful vaulted ceiling architecture.
