BlackSeaRama Golf & Villas: set back from and high above the Black Sea on the Bulgarian coast, you'll find the Gary Player-designed BlackSeaRama course. It sits directly alongside the Ian Woosnam-designed Lighthouse Resort golf course. A few kilometres to the east, and perched on cliffs directly above the sea, is Thracian Cliffs, another Gary Player design. All three are exemplars of Bulgaria's relatively new attraction to resort golf.
The first completed project of Gary Player in Eastern Europe, the "links-style" open parkland layout of BlackSeaRama provides endless sea views from a height of 200 m above sea level. You look out onto a magnificent bay, extending from Cape Kaliakra south to Cape Galata.
From relatively flat terrain, this cliff-top links golf course was created with generously sized fairways and greens ... the wind, as is usual on clifftop courses, is often a factor.

On the northern Bulgarian coast between the towns of Balchik and Kavarna, and facing out onto the Black Sea, three top quality Stay&Play golf resorts have recently come to the fore. The Ian Woosnam-designed course at Lighthouse Resort blazed the trail in 2008, quickly followed by two Gary Player designs, one at BlackSeaRama (2009), the other at Thracian Cliffs (2011).
