Rivershore Estate & Golf Links: Located alongside the South Thompson river and adjacent to the Kentucky-style South Thompson Inn, Rivershore is a well-maintained and deceptively challenging course. Laid out in two nine-hole loops by the great Robert Trent Jones Sr, the course is bounded by rugged, sagebrush-covered hills to the north and the wide South Thompson river to the south.
The presence of housing alongside the opening holes soon recedes, leaving an attractive and thoroughly absorbing layout, where Jones' masterly touch is ever-present. Although the terrain is generally flat, with one or two modest exceptions, there is plenty of excellent sharp-edged bunkering to give the course abundant character and provide the first line of defence for most holes. Two small ponds meander through part of the course, threatening on about five holes, not least at the doglegging par-4 10th, which wriggles its way between the two ponds.
More open than tree-lined, the course often exudes a linksy-feel, with longer thicker grasses awaiting any seriously errant drives. The riverside holes are inevitably saved until last, with the wonderfully crafted par-3 17th and excellently bunkered par-5 18th providing a terrific finish to an always interesting layout.

In the late 1970's local realtor and entrepreneur Bill Bilton had the dream of creating a golf and real estate complex to rival all others. No lesser golf course architect than Robert Trent Jones Snr was commissioned to bring the dream to life. Since that time Rivershore has hosted many top-level events, not least the Canadian Tour Qualifying School and many national tournaments, including the Canadian mens' and womens' Amateur Championships. | Located in the 18th fairway are two Keekwillies, evidence of ancient indian settlements. A Keekwillie is a deep depression dug from the ground, which would provide a home and shelter for nomadic indian tribes as they followed migrating wildlife.
