Manitou Ridge is located to the east of Georgian Bay, a large northeastern arm of Lake Huron, the second largest (by surface area) of the five Great Lakes. By far the largest of the lakes is Lake Superior, then Huron and Michigan of almost equal size, then Erie followed by Ontario. Each of the lakes has the USA on one side and Canada on the other, except Lake Michigan, which is contained entirely within the United States.
Canada's 55th best course (SCOREGolf, 2026) and 25th best public access course (SCOREGolf, 2025).

Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.
The wider Paris region offers plenty more. Courses such as Fontainebleau, Golf de Saint-Germain, and several other top-rated layouts make this area one of Europe’s most rewarding golf destinations, offering a mix of woodland, heathland, and parkland designs.
