Mission Hills Dongguan (Olazabal)
The Olazabal course at Mission Hills Golf Club, Dongguan is a well-crafted tree-lined parkland layout, containing a wealth of challenging holes. As Olazabal's inaugural signature course, it lays down one of Mission Hills' stronger tests. It plays more than 7,300 yards for the Omega Mission Hills World Cup tournaments, and boasts 151 bunkers, including no less than 24 on the long par-5 15th.
Numerous vistas onto pristine jungle and natural flowing streams create impressive backdrops throughout. The many deep bunkers and constantly undulating fairways are two distinguishing features of this championship layout. The course lies in close proximity to the Annika and Rose-Poulter layouts; the par-3 17th holes of all three of these courses sit side-by-side.
The Mission Hills luxury golf resort at Dongguan is home to five championship golf courses (Olazabal, Annika, Rose-Poulter, Norman and Leadbetter), with two more (Faldo and Pete Dye) located just 5 km away at the Mid-Valley clubhouse. Another five Mission Hills courses (World Cup, Vijay, Els, Ozaki and Zhang) are located 15 km away in Shenzhen. The Olazabal and Norman courses are typically the highest rated of the courses at Dongguan, but all five are well crafted and pleasantly undulating championship layouts.

The Olazabal Course has hosted many of the biggest tournaments seen at Mission Hills, including the Omega Mission Hills World Cup on several occasions. | José María Olazábal, also known as "Chema" in his native Spain, won two Masters titles and is one of Europe's all-time greats. During the 1980s and 1990s, he teamed with his fellow countryman and mentor Seve Ballesteros to form perhaps the most feared tandem in Ryder Cup history. "Ollie's" short-game ranks among the best in golf's history.
