Friar's Head
Friar's Head Golf Course is one of the top-rated and finest championship layouts in New York state. The excellent duneland, links course contains a wealth of wonderfully crafted, memorable and challenging holes. Definitely a course that will challenge your all-round game. However, this is a private course generally playable only by members and their guests.
Private club; visitors/guests may only play if hosted by a member.
Non-metal spike facility. Friar's Head is a walking course; golf cart usage only with permission of Golf Professional. Caddies required by all players.
Excellent
The term Friar's Head comes from a nearby sand formation. Sailors thought the formation bore a resemblance to a Friar's head when it was approached from the sea. Just a couple of hundred yards west of Friar's Head is another private golf club, the Baiting Hollow Club, which is home to a course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.
New York state's 5th best course (Golf Digest, 2023/24).
USA's 15th best course (Golf Digest, 2023).
World's 23rd best course (GOLF Magazine, 2023/24).
