Belvedere Golf Club

4-star: generally an excellent standard golf course, well worth visiting.

Where2Golf says:

Belvedere Golf Club: Located just outside Charlevoix, Michigan, this historic club is home to one of the classic designs of Scottish-born golf architect Willie Watson. Similar in style to many of the famous inland courses of the British Isles, Belvedere welcomes outside guest play during the season.

Famed architect William Watson, is perhaps best known for his major championship designs, which include Olympia Fields in Chicago, Interlachen in Minneapolis, The Olympic Club in San Francisco and notable others. With five teams of horses and 150 men, the ebullient Scotsman turned a farm is the small Lake Michigan village of Charlevoix into one of the state's most iconic and enjoyable courses.
