Las Iguanas Golf Club - Cap Cana Est. 2016?

Where2Golf says:

Las Iguanas Golf Club - Cap Cana: The second Jack Nicklaus design at Cape Cana was due for completion in late-2011 (but as far as we know has not yet opened). CHECK CURRENT STATUS with the club.

Las Iguanas has been designed as a second layout to complement the now established oceanside Punta Espada course. It gives the Cap Cana resort area two Nicklaus Signature layouts. The new layout presents an eclectic test with three oceanside holes (12 thru' 14) hugging the rocky shoreline.

Las Iguanas will challenge your golfing skills in a mainly open-parkland setting, where water hazards are deployed and bunkers crafted in true Nicklaus style. Part of the course skirts a nature preserve marked by indigenous vegetation, wetland settings and caves that shelter iguanas and other native wildlife.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Did you know?

Cap Cana takes its name from the French "Cap", meaning Cape, and the large number of cana palms (copernicia hospita or Cuban Wax Palms) found in this area.

With the opening of Las Iguanas as a public-access course, its sister-course at Cap Cana, the world-rated Punta Espada layout, will revert to being a private club. Guests may only play if hosted by a member or, on a limited basis, if staying at Sanctuary Cap Cana.
