Bramshaw Golf Club

3-star: Good course – an enjoyable test for your game.

Est. 1865

Bramshaw Golf Club is home to the Manor course (1971), which is located at the clubhouse, directly behind the Bell Inn. Half a mile away, along Roger Penny Way (B3078), is the club's much older and more rudimentary Forest course (1865), the oldest course in Hampshire, and reputedly the third oldest golfing ground in England. Description and further details to follow.

Bramshaw Golf Club and Bramshaw Cricket Club (at the same location as the Forest course), were officially established by John Jeffreys and Philip de Crespigny in 1880. It is documented that de Crespigny had been entertaining guests on his rather basic "Forest" golf course since around 1865.

Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.

The wider Paris region offers plenty more. Courses such as Fontainebleau, Golf de Saint-Germain, and several other top-rated layouts make this area one of Europe’s most rewarding golf destinations, offering a mix of woodland, heathland, and parkland designs.
