Hindhead Golf Club: If it's your first visit to Hindhead, you can be forgiven for thinking it a rather eccentric and technical course. The further into your round you get, and the more you become acquainted with this J.H. Taylor layout, the more you'll begin to appreciate what a splendid heathland gem it is.
The front-nine plays in the bottom of two tree-lined valleys with several tight and challenging holes. The back-nine is less undulating terrain and easier on the legs, but still presents a tough test.
The rough can be uncompromising and doesn't yield up stray balls easily, but the short grass is very well maintained and well worth staying on. In this scenic woodland setting, you may catch a glimpse of resident deer, or look out over the surrounding wooded hills - one of the best views of which can be enjoyed from the 19th hole!
Visitors welcome on weekdays and after midday on weekends.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap on weekends: 20. Proof of handicap required.
Cash or UK cheque only. Contact club for full details, discounts, packages, etc. [Last updated: 2019].
