Golf Club d'Hossegor

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1927

Golf Club d'Hossegor: The course here couldn’t be more different from its hilly and twisting neighbour at Seignosse, although both are well worth visiting. Hossegor is essentially flat. There's a slight rise up to the par-3 14th green and a blind tee shot back down again at the short par-5 15th. These are the only interruptions to an uncomplicated "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" layout.

Despite an absence of significant elevation changes and commanding views, the layout at Hossegor is a delight to play. Hitting onto good-width fairways and putting-out on firm true greens, are two of the layout's attractive attributes.

The villas around the course perimeter and ever-present woodland of mature pines, strawberry trees and cork oak, make for a pleasant environment. With a brace of short par-5s to be played, there's also the opportunity to card a good score on this fine old John Morrison design.
