Where2Golf says:

Golf de Dieppe - Pourville: At the 7th oldest golf club in France you will enjoy a wonderful mix of open and more tree-lined holes laid out on pleasantly undulating terrain. Although the clubhouse is located just 200 metres from the edge of cliffs that plunge down into La Manche (English Channel), the course itself heads inland rather than along the cliffs. The opening and closing holes are played in an expansively open area, from where you'll enjoy many scenic views of the coast, out to sea and down onto the village of Pourville-sur-Mer. The layout, more parkland in character than duneland links, quickly introduce Dieppe's excellent variety of challenges as well as its scoring opportunities. The upturned, pudding-bowl green at the par-3 2nd makes for a testing tee-shot, while the short and sweeping par-5 3rd will be reachable in two for big hitters - wind direction permitting. The par-4 5th, which doglegs downhill from right to left, is one of Dieppe's most dramatic holes, while your tee-shot at the par-3 6th is played from the top of a disused bunker (the concrete gun-emplacement variety). On this quiet and natural layout, the first five holes of the back-nine loop will feel the tightest, with pine trees lining both sides of the fairway. Emerging back into open terrain at the par-3 15th, and several more wonderful views along the coastal cliffs, be careful with your blind tee-shot at the par-5 16th. A water hazards lurks on the rightside and out of bounds on the leftside of a steeply right-to-left sloping fairway. The panoramic vista from the significantly elevated 16th green is the best of them all.

Did you know?

Dieppe-Pourville is the 7th oldest golf club in France, created in 1897 mainly at the instigation of British golfers who lived in the area. | As a key port on the Normandie coast, the town was the target of the Dieppe Raid, a daring but costly mission to capture the port in 1942. The assault was mainly conducted by the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division, who lost more than 1,400 soldiers, with 1,900 captured and no major objectives achieved. Following the Normandie invasion in June 1944, Dieppe was liberated in September of that year, by soldiers from the same Canadian Infantry Division.
