Verdura Golf & Spa Resort (East course): Located on the south coast of Sicily near the town of Sciacca, Verdura is a relatively recent addition to Europe's fine array of Mediterranean Stay&Play venues. With two similar length championship layouts and a 9-hole short course, Verdura presents top-class golf and resort facilities.
Both the East and West layouts at Verdura were designed by leading American architect Kyle Phillips. The generally higher-rated East course ranks with some of the best in Italy, while the also links-style West course is not too far behind. Early highlights on the pleasantly undulating East include the short par-4 3rd and the beachside par-4 5th and short par-3 6th, each with stunning outlooks.
On the back-nine loop, from the par-5 14th the course turns seaward, sweeping across glorious links terrain. The best is saved till last, with the penultimate hole climbing to an elevated green for another stunning view out to sea. A few steps away are the tees of the fabulous par-4 18th, which runs parallel and close to the shoreline. A wonderful finishing hole on this immensely scenic and challenging seaside links-style course.

The Verdura Resort is perfectly positioned to explore the island of Sicily, with its many historical and cultural sites situated close by. Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean, and as captivating as it is diverse. For centuries, it has been at the crossroads of civilisations and each has left an indelible imprint on this Italian region.
Verdura hosted the European Tour's Sicilian Open on a composite layout, comprising holes from both the East and West courses. The composite includes the 12 seaside holes, connected by six of the more inland holes. This Composite is generally available to be played twice a week, allowing you to test your game on a course used by Europe's top tour professionals. (See our Tournaments section >by Venue >Verdura).
East course:
Italy's No.1 course (Golf World, 2022).
Continental Europe's 58th best course (Golf World, 2025).
