Where2Golf says:

TPC Louisiana, a member of the Tournament Players Club network, is undoubtedly one of the flagship courses on the state of Louisiana's Audubon Golf Trail. As they say in the Big Easy (that's New Orleans rather than Ernie Els), "laissez les bons temps rouler!" No better place to "let the good times roll" than at TPC Louisianna.

This fabulously natural and challenging Pete Dye design, which plays host to the PGA Tour's New Orleans Classic, is located just south-west of the Crescent City in an unspoilt area of woodland and classic Lou'siana swamp. Immaculately maintained and presented, the layout winds through a tranquil, pristine, housing-free environment. The gently rippling and at times tightish fairways are flanked by tall cypress trees and long expansive bunkers.

Occasionally there is water to contend with, but perhaps not as much as you might expect in this swampland setting. That said, the long par-3 9th provides a scary water-defended challenge to complete the front-nine loop, while the rightside of the long par-5 18th is nothing but water, from tee-to-green. On some holes the feel is a little more open and less tree-lined, but typically compensated for by the presence of water or pampas-defined waste bunkers.

A formidable array of pot bunkers, "coffin" bunkers and sometimes more expansive sand traps provide stern defences around the top-quality, fast and not overly large greens. Invading one or two fairways, don't be surprised to find small pot bunkers built into pyramid-shaped mounds, not least at the par-4 8th.
