Where2Golf says:

Dancing Rabbit Golf Club (The Oaks course): Two excellent Tom Fazio-Jerry Pate designed courses await at the wonderfully named Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, part of the Pearl River casino and golf resort. Both layouts are excellently maintained, framed by lofty oaks and pines, and both weave their way through pleasantly undulating terrain.

The Oaks course, like its companion, is a wonderfully crafted and excellent quality parkland layout. Unlike its companion however, the routing follows an out-and-back design, with a half-way house conveniently sited as far out from the clubhouse as you can go, alongside the 10th tee. Each hole is attractively characterised by towering pines, oaks and many other tree varieties, creating impressive tree-lined avenues to play through.

Arguably the Oaks offers a bit more space from the tee than you'll find on the Azaleas course. The holes are also solidly defended by stylish bunkering; this time grass-fronted rather than sand-faced. At the par-4 6th, par-5 16th and testing par-3 17th, a small rocky bluff attractively adds extra definition to the holes. Small fountain-adorned ponds are also brought into play alongside a few of the expansive greens.

Surrounded by pristine woodland, the Oaks course doesn't offer too much in the way of scenic vistas, except of the holes themselves, which are indeed handsomely crafted. Here at Dancing Rabbit you are guaranteed a memorable golfing experience, with two of Mississippi's finest layouts sitting side-by-side.

Stay & Play at Dancing Rabbit, the Silverstar Hotel & Casino offers on-site accommodation (see Where2Stay section below).

Where2Golf spotlights

Tournaments:
Walker Cup: The USA scored a convincing 15.5-10.5 win over their GB&I opponents in the 47th Walker Cup at Royal Liverpool. The USA amateurs won all but two of the Sunday singles matches.
Solheim Cup:  can Europe’s top women professional golfers fair better at Gleneagles than they did in their 2017 Solheim Cup encounter with the USA. (Sept 13-15).
Who's Who:
Brian Barnes:  one of the most colourful Scottish golfers of the modern era sadly passed away. Few others can boast two matchplay wins against Jack Nicklaus … on the same day!
Steve Stricker:  three-time Ryder Cup player and 12-time PGA Tour winner, defends his PGA Tour Champions, Sanford International title at Minnehaha CC (Sept 20-22).
