Valkenswaard, Noord-Brabant 5553 VB
18 holes. Tree-lined heathland. Gently undulating terrain - easy to walk.
5-hole short course (par-15, 516 m).
8 km S of Eindhoven
From the A67 motorway (Eindhoven Randweg) just south of Eindhoven, take exit 33 (Waalre-Valkenswaard) and follow the N69 direction Waalre. After 4.4 km (go through the village of Waalre) turn left at small sign indicating Eindhovensche Golf.
Eindhovensche Golf: There are few better examples of a wooded heathland golf course than you'll find here at Eindhovensche. The favourable initial impression created by the lovely thatched-roof clubhouse is mirrored in Harry Colt's masterly design. Another of the gems in Harry Colt's "Dutch collection," which also includes Royal Haagsche, Hilversum, Kennemer and Utrecht-De Pan.
The two nine-hole loops comprise excellently crafted holes, each hole individually routed through the tranquility of this large and impressive woodland area. Good-width fairways, some flat, others more undulating, lead you to well-defended but not overly large greens. Staying out of the trees and hitting the putting surfaces in regulation is the key to scoring well here.
Nicely elevated tee-boxes on several holes provide an excellent view of the challenges ahead. You'll not be required to hit blind tee-shots over hills, but there are some excellent dog-legging holes where shaping your tee-shots will serve you well.
Eindhovensche exudes all the character of the Surrey/Berkshire heathland gems, from where Colt drew much of his inspiration as a designer. Although part of the course skirts around a small lake (Galgenven), there aren't any holes that sit directly alongside the lake. Barring a few notable exceptions, Colt's designs rarely incorporate big water features, even where they occur naturally. With very little water in play, just a smaller pond at the par-5 17th, Eindhoven is perfectly set up for a wonderful golfing journey through a rather enchanting forest.

Covered by its impressive thatched-roof, Eindhovensche has one of the most picturesque clubhouses among golf courses in the Netherlands. From the clubhouse terrace you are afforded wonderful views over the 1st, 9th and 18th holes, and even across a good-sized lake to the par-3 16th.
The club has hosted the Dutch Open championship (mens and womens) on several occasions. For details see Top Golf Tournament at Eindhoven GC.
