Take the A2 motorway south from Lisbon; take exit 2 and follow the N10 south direction Azeitao (later signed Setubal). After traffic lights in Quinta do Conde continue for another 1.9 kms on N10 then turn right direction Golf. At first roundabout turn left (third exit). After 1.4 km golf is on your right.
Quinta do Peru Golf Course: With the Arrabida mountains as its backdrop, and most holes skirted by woodland or orchards, this Rocky Roquemore design lays down a throughly enjoyable golfing test. The opening par-5 (stroke-index 1) gives you a flavour of the often generous rolling fairways, well-placed bunkering, excellent greens and overall parkland character of the layout.
Excellent use is made of the undulating terrain, and it's generally clear to see what's needed from the tee. The par-3 8th and 16th holes, and par-4 12th and 17th are where water threatens. Elsewhere, good quality bunkering provides the defence.
With pleasant views over surrounding and distant hills, and relatively limited housing around the course, the only other ingredient you'll want (and probably get) is plenty of Portuguese sunshine to accompany your round.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap: men 28; women 36.
Soft spikes only. Players generally walk this course. Golf carts available for hire.

The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
