Quinta do Vale Golf Resort

3-PLUS: Good course - several memorable features; worthy of 3½ stars.

Est. 2007

Quinta do Vale Golf Resort: Located amongst small rolling hills a good 10 km back from the coast, Quinta do Vale is home to a generally well-regarded Seve Ballesteros designed golf course. Close by, and visible from the course's higher elevations and the clubhouse, is the Portuguese-Spanish border, clearly marked by the Guadiana River.

Not too much real estate has been, or can be built around the course, which retains a pleasantly open and natural feel. The equal number of par-3s, par-4s and par-5s holes weave their way through the rugged landscape, with several ponds and a meandering stream making their presence felt, especially on the very testing front-nine loop.
