Where2Golf says:

Prince's Grant Coastal Golf Estate: Located on the coast, a few kilometres east of Stanger, Prince's Grant is one of the best known and most popular golf courses north of Durban. Laid out on wonderfully scenic, undulating terrain, you will be tested and challenged while playing through a varied mix of golfing environments. At times feeling very open and links-like, at other times more parkland, you will be treated to many wonderful views across the Indian Ocean and onto surrounding rural countryside. Housing is certainly making its presence felt more and more, but is generally set far enough back not to "overwhelm" the course. Several holes are played between the quite dense coastal vegetation of small trees and bushes, while the more elevated sections near to the clubhouse are distinctly more open. There is a proliferation of bunkers both large and small, flanking many fairways and guarding the greens, with clusters of pot-bunkers often "hunting in packs". The best of the sea views and links holes come on the back-nine; up until then, the front-nine, played more inland and with some very threatening water hazards, is also capable of giving your game a thorough examination. The downhill par-5 14th, which brings you closest to the ocean, is arguably the most memorable of this fine collection of holes. Providing the wind is not blowing flat-out, Prince's Grant is one of those courses you will quickly warm to, well worth the 1.5 hour journey north from Durban.

At this Stay & Play venue, the on-site accommodation is located close to the golf facilities.

Did you know?

The rolling hills and valleys, located close to the Indian Ocean in KwaZulu-Natal provided an ideal growing environment for the sugar industry in days gone by. Prince's Grant, like one or two other golf/real estate developments, has been created on what was formerly a sugar cane farm, known as the Hyde Park Farm. >> The nearby town of Stanger is also known locally as KwaDukuza, an African name meaning "place of the lost person".
