Steyn City
The Club at Steyn City: located between Johannesburg and Pretoria, the golf course at Steyn City is the centrepiece of this expansive residential and sports development. The modern layout by Nicklaus Design, excellent practice facilities and award-winning clubhouse, represent an important addition to the golfing scene north of Jo'burg.
Reflecting the grandeur and breadth of Steyn City, and straddling either side of the Jukskei River (one of Johannesburg's main rivers), the impressive layout roams across predominantly open terrain. (Its neighbour to the south, the Dainfern Golf & Residential Estate, also straddles the same river).
The pleasantly undulating terrain on this cart-only course is home to a succession of excellently crafted holes that will thoroughly test your game. At over 7,000 metres from the tips, it’s a big challenge for the longest hitters, with wide fairways making for a player-friendly layout.
Water, in the form of ponds, creeks and the Jukskei River itself, all play their part in the layout's defences, as does plenty of stylish bunkering. A growing number of mansions and large villas around the course are generally set well back from the playing areas. Developer Douw Steyn’s palatial mansion, Palazzo Steyn, looks down onto the course and clubhouse from the 10th tee.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

South Africa's 17th best course (SA's Top 100 Courses, 2023).
The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
