Where2Golf says:

Real (Royal) Sociedad de Golf de Neguri: If ever there was a course of two halves then perhaps this is it, but throughout you will delight at Neguri's immaculate presentation and condition, which includes carpet-like fairways and usually lightning fast greens that are a marvel to putt on. Sea and harbour views, and generally wide fairways are encountered on the "clifftop" front-nine. This openness is replaced by a more tree-lined environment on the back-nine, where impressive tall pines narrow down the fairways, but not so much that the driver has to be kept under lock-and-key. Of the many excellent holes here, two deserve a special mention. The long par-3 14th is a real gem, requiring a precise shot to an elevated and well protected green. The par-5 18th is a good par-5 with a green that is perfectly framed by the very inviting and luxurious clubhouse. This may be a tough course to find, and perhaps get onto, but its well worth the effort - and the nearby seaside town of Algorta is also a delightful surprise for those not familiar with the Bilbao area.

The American Express formerly known as the Desert Classic, and for many years played as the Bob Hope Desert Classic, will once again be decided on the Pete Dye designed Stadium course at PGA West (Jan 16-19).
The Players Championship:  for the 39th time, TPC Sawgrass, another iconic Pete Dye design, will host The Players Championship for one of the richest first prizes in world golf (March 12-15).

Who's Who:
Pete Dye:  one of the greatest golf course architects of this or any generation passes away aged 94. His contribution to golf course design, and the legacy he leaves is immense.
Jack Nicklaus:  like Pete Dye a native of Ohio, actually started his golf course design career working together with Dye.
