Take the E18 out of Stockholm heading north-east (direction Norrtalje). Leave E18 at exit Akersberga / Gillinge. Follow route 276 direction Akerberga. After 6.6 km at roundabout turn right direction Vaxholm / Osteraker. After 50 metres turn right into Osteraker Golf Club.
Osteraker (East)
Österåkers Golfklubb is home to two challenging championship layouts, the product of a complete redesign of the original East and West courses (Österled and Västerled). Resulting from the Christian Lundin and Henrik Stenson-led transformation, the revamped American parkland-style East course (briefly known as "Öster by Stenson"), took over top-billing at Osteraker. (2026 will mark the arrival of the new and much revamped West course).
The East (Österled) course was previously known as the easier-going of the club's two 18-hole layouts. That all changed in 2024/25, when the course was significantly redesigned to create the new Henrik Stenson signature design.
The revamped course now offers generous fairways, plenty of strategically located white-sand bunkers, and water hazards threatening on several holes. The large greens are demanding, thanks to plenty of roller-coaster undulations.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends (after 2pm).
Must book in advance (visitors can book 2 days ahead of day of play). Maximum handicap: men 24; women 30.
Soft spikes only. Players generally walk this course.

Österaker's original West (Västerled) course played host to the Ladies European Tour's Compaq Open in 1997, 1999 and 2001, when the respective winners were Annika Sörenstam, Laura Davies and Raquel Carriedo (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Osteraker-West).
The complete redesign of the club's original East (Österled) course in 2024/25 by Henrik Stenson and Christian Lundin, represented Stenson's first design project. The pair also redesigned the club's original championship West (Västerled) course (2025/26).

Presidents Cup: Geoff Ogilvy’s International Team take on Brandt Snedeker’s USA Team at the revered Medinah Country Club, near Chicago. The Internationals are trying to halt a run of 11 consecutive American wins. (Sept 24-27).
French Open: Continental Europe’s oldest national championship, dating from 1906, is once again staged on the Albatros Course at Le Golf National, near Paris. Defending champion is America’s Michael Kim. (Sept 24-27).
Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.
The wider Paris region offers plenty more. Courses such as Fontainebleau, Golf de Saint-Germain, and several other top-rated layouts make this area one of Europe’s most rewarding golf destinations, offering a mix of woodland, heathland, and parkland designs.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
