Torekovs Golfklubb: Nothing is nicer than finding a hidden gem of a golf course, off the beaten trail and in a wonderful seaside setting. Such is Torekov. With ever-present sea views, even a chance to go paddling at some holes, this links course is complete with thick-ish rough, tight fairways, water ditches and small ponds, small wind-blown trees, pot-bunkering, dry stone walls (!) and summer houses dotted around. This may not be the longest golf course in Sweden, but it does have more exposure to the sea than the rest and will provide every aspect of your game with a thorough work-out - although use of the driver may not be necessary on every tee shot. A great little course, in a great seaside location.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and after midday on weekends.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap: 36.
Credit cards accepted. Contact club for full details, discounts, packages, etc. [Last updated: 2018].

Torekov is a fascinating little village complete with harbour, a museum and plenty of history. The food in G. Swenson's Krog & Café is especially recommended.

Brooks Koepka: the former world No.1 defends his title at the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind in Memphis (July 30-Aug 2).
Traigh Golf Course (pronounced "try", and meaning "beach" in Gaelic): You'll find this nine-hole seaside gem on the scenic coast road (as opposed to the more inland and quicker A830) between Arisaig and Morar. Although not on the well-beaten path of Scotland's "trophy" courses, if you are passing through this area, it's a must play.
Cullen Links Golf Club: "immensely scenic", "quirky as golf can get", "short!", "hugely enjoyable" ... Cullen Links attracts as wide a variety of comments as it lays down golfing challenges. Shoehorned into this 4,600 yard treasure trove are ten par-3s, seven par-4s and a good-length par-5. Here you'll find all the seaside scenery a golfer could ask for, and a lot more besides.
