From Pattaya take the Sukhumvit Road (route 3) toward Sattahip. After approx 10 km, passing the Ambassador Hotel and Ocean Marina, turn left at traffic lights, onto Sukhaphiban 2 Road, and follow signs to golf course. After 4 km golf entrance is on your right.
Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club: The province of Chonburi is not short of top-quality golf courses, and Phoenix Gold is up there with the best. The excellently maintained 27-hole layout comprises three out-and-back nine-hole loops: the Mountain, Lake and Ocean.
Throughout, you'll enjoy excellent green-keeping standards in a lightly tree-lined parkland environment. Gently contoured fairways, shallow sprawling bunkers and often wickedly sloping greens will all thoroughly test your game. There's no difficulty in spotting the tee-boxes here, they are all backed by a waist-high, neatly trimmed hedge.
The shortest nine, the Lake is inevitably where most water hazards are encountered; they come in the guise of small lakes and ponds rather than a single extensive lake. The Ocean-nine may have you thinking of large expanses of water, but you'll need to wait until the 9th tee to get a really good view of the Gulf of Thailand, together with the offshore islands that lie just off the Pattaya coast.
Arguably the best and most scenic loop of holes is the Mountain-nine. A very picturesque range of folding, jungle-clad hills is constantly in view. The rocky frontage of one mountain is adorned with a massive, laser-carved image of Buddha, the golden lines of the image standing out against the grey of the rockface - quite a sight, especially when illuminated by the sun's rays. The clubhouse here at Phoenix is one of the most impressive in Thailand - especially on the inside!
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
Non-metal spike facility. Caddies used by all players. Golf carts available for hire.

Phoenix Gold G&CC represents one of the earlier Thai layouts designed by US-based golf architect Denis Griffiths. He later went on to design the much acclaimed Thai Country Club and the lesser known Soi Dao Highland course in Thailand.
Phoenix Gold has held many top level tournaments, including in 2017 the inaugural Ladies European (Tour) Thailand Championship. The event was won by the LET's youngest ever winner, 14-year-old Thai schoolgirl Atthaya Thitikul (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Phoenix Gold, Thai).
