Southern Hills Golf & Country Club: located in the far south of Thailand near the border with Malaysia, Southern Hills enjoys an excellent reputation. Although isolated from the country's more popular golfing destinations, any intrepid golf travellers to Songkhla Province and the city of Hat Yai, will be rewarded with a very natural and challenging course.
The two nine-hole loops follow an undulating route along a narrow river valley, flanked on both sides by dense jungle. Water is a constant factor on the front-nine, where many of the holes are laid out alongside small lakes.
Water is less in evidence on the middle section of the back-nine, although the signature, island-green par-3 17th and memorable, water-flanked, long par-4 18th ensure there is a watery sting-in-the-tail at the end of this challenging and always absorbing layout.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
Non-metal spike facility. Caddies used by all players.
