Did you know?

The Istanbul Golf Club is the ninth oldest golf club in continental Europe. It was established in 1895 as the Constantinople Golf Club in the Okmeydany district of Istanbul, and comprised 12 holes. In 1911 the name was changed to Bosphorous Golf Club when the club moved to a new location in Bebek with a 9-hole layout. The club then moved to its current location in Maslak in 1920, and took its former name, Constantinople Golf Club. At this time the club had 60 members and an 8-hole layout. The course was expanded to 18 holes, but later reverted to a 9-hole layout, and took the name Istanbul Golf Club.
