This pleasant nine-hole layout is played around several good-sized water hazards that are home to a wonderful variety of birdlife.

Abu Dhabi Golf Club is home to a superb championship layout (aka the National Championship course), which provides a regular stop on the European Tour's "Desert Swing". But rather than something hewn from the Middle Eastern desert, the course itself resonates more closely with a top-quality parkland layout in the Spanish/Portuguese tradition. Within the tree-lined perimeter, it's often hard to imagine you are playing a desert course.
The overall presentation of Abu Dhabi's legendary course and all its accompanying facilities is top-notch. An excellent array of water hazards, terrific bunkering and fabulous greens provide all the characteristics you'd expect from a top quality European Tour venue.
Nicely rolling fairways are bordered by quite generous amounts of lush, grassy semi-rough ... there isn't really any deep rough to worry about. Beyond that the sandy waste areas are adorned with all manner of small trees, palms and flowering shrubs - more in keeping with a spacious parkland course than with the open feel of, say, an Arizona desert course.
Each hole at Abu Dhabi Golf Club has been wonderfully crafted by Peter Harradine, ensuring your round is full of challenge and interest. You'll also get regular glimpses of the spectacular "swooping falcon" clubhouse. Without doubt, one of the golfing jewels in the Emirates crown.
