From the I-459 (just south of Bessemer near Birmingham) take exit 1 (Bessemer / McCalla) and follow direction McCalla on Eastern Valley Rd - but only for 100 yards. 100 yards from Intersate Hwy turn right onto Bell Hill Road. After 1 mile turn left into Dickey Springs Road. After 1 mile turn right into Bent Brook Golf Club.
Bent Brook Golf Club: Bent Brook's 27-hole layout offers a pleasant round of golf in a mainly open parkland environment. Each of the relatively compact nine-hole loops - the Brook, Graveyard and Windmill - starts and finishes at the clubhouse, with the Brook and Graveyard arguably the best combination. The terrain here is generally quite open, with modest earthmounding separating the fairways and much tree-planting still several years away from maturing fully.
With many tightish drives to make and water making its presence felt on several holes, this is a layout that demands good course management and adept shot-making. Providing these two facets of your game are in place, the shallow bunkering, absence of penal rough between the fairways and not overly large greens should assist the better golfer to shoot low at Bent Brook.
The Graveyard will perhaps probe and test your game the most, with plenty of water hazards to be negotiated and two long testing par-3's. The Brook nine is the longest and flanked by the other two nines - the long par-5 4th and tough tee shot over water at the par-4 5th will both test your nerve and sinew. The slightly shorter but also enjoyable Windmill nine, which briefly takes you out towards the Interstate highway, also has water dangerously in play, but only at the closing two holes. A pleasant course for golfers of all levels, always well presented and with many fine features, not least the usually excellent greens.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.

Bent Brook's logo comprises a windmill and stream, both of which you'll see behind the farmhouse-style clubhouse. This ample facility resonates with the dairy farmland on which Bent Brook was built. The Graveyard-nine takes its name from a small cemetery that lies on the property between the 7th and 8th holes. Bent Brook staged the 2004 Alabama State Amateur championship.

2021 Opens: whether by accident or design, four of the top five mens’ Open Championships played in the British Isles occupy consecutive weeks in July: the Irish Open (1-4), Scottish Open (8-11), The Open (15-18) and Wales Open (22-25). The recently relaunched English Open is scheduled for early-August.
Hoag Classic: Ernie Els defends his title in this prestigious PGA Tour Champions event, played since 1991 at the Newport Beach Country Club, CA (Mar 5-7).
Traigh Golf Course (pronounced "try", and meaning "beach" in Gaelic): You'll find this nine-hole seaside gem on the scenic coast road (as opposed to the more inland and quicker A830) between Arisaig and Morar. Although not on the well-beaten path of Scotland's "trophy" courses, if you are passing through this area, it's a must play.
Cullen Links Golf Club: "immensely scenic", "quirky as golf can get", "short!", "hugely enjoyable" ... Cullen Links attracts as wide a variety of comments as it lays down golfing challenges. Shoehorned into this 4,600 yard treasure trove are ten par-3s, seven par-4s and a good-length par-5. Here you'll find all the seaside scenery a golfer could ask for, and a lot more besides.
