Bali Hai
Bali Hai Golf Club is home to a championship golf course that ranks with some of the best in Nevada. This South Pacific inspired layout is accented by a tropical environment of palm trees, expansive sandy waste areas and cascading water features. Mandalay Bay (the hotel that is), provides a backdrop to the north-facing holes.
The Schmidt-Curley designed layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. A must play if you are visiting Vegas. Although billed as "the only championship golf course directly on the Las Vegas Strip", Wynn Golf Club might argue that it sits directly behind its eponymous hotel ... on The Strip.
Stay&Play at Bali Hai: luxury onsite accommodation next door, see Where2Stay section below.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
Walking permitted at certain times. Caddies and forecaddies available on request, and highly recommended by the Club.
The Bali Hai golf course is not just inspired by the South Pacific, but takes its name from the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical "South Pacific". In the musical the volcanic island of Bali Hai is a mystical island, visible on the horizon but not reachable.
Bali Hai was based on the island of Ambae, which is visible on the horizon from Espiritu Santo island in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. James A. Michener referred to the island in his book "Tales of the South Pacific", which provided the basis for the hit musical South Pacific.
