Haig Point Club, Daufuskie Island

Private: A course for members and their invited guests only.

Est. 1986

The private Haig Point Club is home to a championship golf course that ranks with some of the best in South Carolina. This 29-hole tree-lined parkland layout, comprises the 20-hole Signature course and 9-hole Osprey course. Rees Jones' well-crafted layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive and challenging holes to enjoy.

In addition to occasional views out onto scenic Calibogue Sound, part of the fun of playing the Signature course comes at the par-3 8th and par-3 17th holes. On each occasion, you are allowed to choose which of two options you want to play ... the tree-lined "Haig" option or the tougher wetland-carry "Calibogue" option.

Limited access: this private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.

Did you know?

Haig Point takes its name from a family who previously owned the land here. In 1735, George Haig I bought the 500-acre plot from Archibald Niele. Following Haig's death, Haig Point (as it was then called) was left to George Haig III in 1790. In 1810, Haig sold the land to the Mongin family, who later acquired the neighbouring 600-acre Freeport Plantation. This created the nearly 1,100-acre plantation now known as Haig Point.
