Palmetto Hall Plantation (Arthur Hills course)

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1991

Palmetto Hall Plantation (Arthur Hills course): This is one of Hilton Head's best lay-outs, set as it is in a predominantly woodland / marshland setting. The real estate lining some of the course is not at all intrusive, set behind the mainly tree-lined fairways, which are tight enough to need accuracy from both the tee and with several of the approach shots. The course abounds with natural features, providing a good mix of strong golf holes, some with water hazards, some without, some excellent dog-legs and all-round good quality maintenance. The greens are well-sized and usually quite fast. The tough, water-lined par-4 18th, provides the course's signature hole and a great place to finish a close Match Play. Definitely one of Hilton Head's must-play venues.
