Russ Miller (PGA, Director of Golf) / Mark Kelbel (PGA, Head Golf Professional). The Course:
18 holes. Tree-lined & open parkland. Gently undulating terrain - a few slopes to climb.
Surroundings:
Woodland and limited residential.
Designer:
Holes 1-6 and 16-18 on today's East course come from the original Donald Ross design (opened in 1918); holes 7-15 were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr (1964). Modifications by Ron Forse (2016).
The two 18-hole golf courses at The Broadmoor are: EAST course (par-72, 7355 yds from back tees); WEST course (par-71, 7016 yds). The resort's MOUNTAIN course (par-72, 7637 yds; located 2 mi S of the main resort centre) was forced to close in 2015 following a land slippage; unsure if and when it will reopen.

Broadmoor, The (East)
The Broadmoor Resort (East course): The Broadmoor Resort is located a few miles outside the city of Colorado Springs on the edge of Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Here you'll find two excellent 18-hole championship golf layouts: the much revered East course, and the also Donald Ross inspired and pleasantly testing West course. The Broadmoor's relatively newer Mountain course (located two miles from the main resort centre) closed in 2015 due to a land slippage; as of 2020 it is still closed.
The tree-lined and open parkland East course contains a wealth of wonderfully crafted, memorable and challenging holes. The layout is known for its wide, tree-lined fairways, expansive greens, challenging terrain and wonderful mountain vistas. While enjoying the mountain scenery, don't forget that putts break away from the mountains. Definitely a course that will challenge your all-round game.
