The Broadmoor Resort (West course)

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1918

The Broadmoor Resort (West course): The Broadmoor Resort is located a few miles outside the city of Colorado Springs on the edge of Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Here you'll find two excellent 18-hole championship golf layouts: the much revered East course, and the also Donald Ross inspired and pleasantly testing West course. The Broadmoor's relatively newer Mountain course (located two miles from the main resort centre) closed in 2015 due to a land slippage; as of 2023 it is still closed.

The West course is a tree-lined and open parkland layout that should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. The layout plays tighter off the tee than the East Course, with more heavily tree-lined holes and an array of demanding approach shots.

Rolling fairways, multi-level greens, and demanding hazards also add to the demands of the formidable West course. Perched at an elevation of 6,800 feet, this 18-hole course has more doglegs and steeply-angled greens than the East, and offers wonderful views of both the mountains and Colorado Springs.

Who's Who

Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with four wins out of her last four appearances on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Korda's win at the T-Mobile Match Play brought up her 12th LPGA Tour victory.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
