The River Course at Keystone

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 2000

The River Course at Keystone is a well-rated and pleasantly testing layout. This tree-lined, mountain style course should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. The flatter front-nine is oriented around the Snake River, in contrast to the back-nine, which winds through an attractive lodgepole pine forest. Impressive elevation changes, threatening bunkering and water hazards all play their part in providing plenty of golfing challenge. The memorable closing stretch includes the long par-4 16th, featuring a 194-foot elevation drop from tee to green. The scenic par-5 18th is awash with bunkers, and also provides wonderful views of Lake Dillon. Usually good upkeep contributes to the appeal of this well-crafted design. One to include on your play list if you are in the area. At this Stay&Play venue, the on-site accommodations are located close to the golf facilities.

Traigh Golf Course (pronounced "try", and meaning "beach" in Gaelic): You'll find this nine-hole seaside gem on the scenic coast road (as opposed to the more inland and quicker A830) between Arisaig and Morar. Although not on the well-beaten path of Scotland's "trophy" courses, if you are passing through this area, it's a must play.
