Key West Golf Club

Unrated: Well regarded course not yet visited by the Where2Golf team.

Est. 1983

Key West Golf Club: Located at the entrance to Key West, the westernmost of the inhabited Florida Keys, you'll find the USA's most southerly golf course - Key West Golf Club's 18 holes encompass over 200 acres of tropical foliage and wildlife - the only "Caribbean" golf course in the United States - golf legend Rees Jones designed this 6,500 yard course to be a challenge to players of all abilities - several holes are flanked by thickly entwined tropical mangroves, others wander alongside Highway 1 (as it completes its journey into Key West) - housing can also be found skirting a few of the holes - the infamous par-3 8th (Mangrove Hole) measures 178 yards from the tips, and is played from tee to island-green over the mangrove swamp - well-bunkered along several fairways and especially around the greens - although not yet visited by the Where2Golf team, Key West GC would appear to be rather harshly rated by Golf Digest as a 2-star course, especially after the recent renovation of all the greens.
