Palm-Aire Country Club (The Cypress course)

3-PLUS: Good course - several memorable features; worthy of 3½ stars.

Est. 1972

Palm-Aire Country Club is home to three 18-hole courses. The original Palms course was designed by William Mitchell and later renovated in 1996 by Karl Litten and Lorrie Viola. Just a mile away you'll find the clubhouse for the Oaks and Cypress courses, both layouts designed by George Fazio and his nephew Tom Fazio.

Often regarded as Palm-Aire's best layout, the Cypress course opened in 1972, a year after the Oaks course. The Cypress is a generally well-regarded layout, which includes several attractive holes and features. This tree-lined and open parkland course will test most facets of your game, and should provide a round with plenty of enjoyable golfing challenges. Worth visiting if you are in the area.

Traigh Golf Course (pronounced "try", and meaning "beach" in Gaelic): You'll find this nine-hole seaside gem on the scenic coast road (as opposed to the more inland and quicker A830) between Arisaig and Morar. Although not on the well-beaten path of Scotland's "trophy" courses, if you are passing through this area, it's a must play.
