Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club: Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club is located just a few miles east of the impressive and very popular Destin/Sandestin golfer's paradise on Florida's Emerald Coast. Surrounded by woodland rather than real estate, this layout retains a wonderfully natural balance.
Mainly tree-lined holes elegantly weave their way past silent ponds, while beyond the fairways the terrain's white sandy subsoil often shows through. On the back-nine the course strikes out for the Gulf of Mexico, courtesy of an out-and-back loop that gets you to within 100 yards of the Gulf's shoreline and those famed sugar white beaches.
With as much tranquil woodland to play through as you can handle, Santa Rosa's natural and well-crafted holes are as enchanting as they are challenging. Don't be misled by the layout's relatively modest length of just under 6500 yards from the tips. With several tightish fairways and several nicely doglegging holes, Santa Rosa can feel a good deal longer than its headline length.
Limited access: this private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.
Private club; guests may only play if hosted by a member.
Non-metal spike facility. Walking permitted after 1pm.
Good
The small community of Santa Rosa Beach on Choctawhatchee Bay, takes its name from Saint Rose of Lima (1586-1617), the first Catholic saint of the Americas. Baptised as Isabel, she was such a beautiful baby that the name Rose was more commonly used, and that name stuck.
