Amelia River
The Amelia River Club (formerly known as Amelia River Golf Club, and before that Royal Amelia Golf Links): Amelia River is a well laid out, varied and always challenging design. Although located close to Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, you would never guess that fact, given the very natural and quiet environment in which these well crafted holes unfold.
The rather open and linksy theme of the good-length opening par-5 returns from time-to-time, interspersed with more wooded stretches, where pines, oaks, palmettos, stylish bunkering and rippling earthmounds attractively frame the holes.
The excellent collection of par-3s, usually with water in close attendance, culminate with a real gem at the 17th. This fabulous island-green par-3 bears an uncanny resemblance to the infamous par-3 17th at TPC Sawgrass; the slightly larger green at Amelia River is set 30 yards farther back than the TPC's.
The small lakes and ponds that threaten at several holes are ably supplemented by Alligator Creek, which meanders through part of the course, most notably crossing the fairways at the closing hole on each of the two nine-hole loops. Having safely navigated your ball over the creek at the 18th, you are rewarded on the final green with expansive views over marshlands, as well as the river that gives the course its name.

Excellent
The Amelia River Club was formerly known as Amelia River Golf Club. It was originally called Royal Amelia Golf Links when it was established in 2000 by golf professional Jim Stoffel and co-owner Don Hite.
Amelia Island is one of the southernmost of the "Sea Islands", a chain of barrier islands that stretch along the USA's east coast from South Carolina to Florida. The island, which faces out onto the Atlantic Ocean, is separated from the mainland by the Amelia River.
