Windsor Parke Golf Club

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1991

Windsor Parke Golf Club: The back-nine of this excellent Arthur Hills layout is a real joy to play. Residential properties are discretely tucked behind the tree-lined fairways, two of which are also dangerously lined with water from start to finish.

The front-nine layout is equally good, equally challenging and equally tight from the tee, but condo's, offices, schools, roads and the like constantly remind you of the competing demands for land close to large cities. There is also more water in play on the front-nine.

Irrespective of the "scenic" differences between front and back nines, this is still one of the best courses in the Jacksonville area.

Traigh Golf Course (pronounced "try", and meaning "beach" in Gaelic): You'll find this nine-hole seaside gem on the scenic coast road (as opposed to the more inland and quicker A830) between Arisaig and Morar. Although not on the well-beaten path of Scotland's "trophy" courses, if you are passing through this area, it's a must play.
