TPC Potomac at Avenel Farms, a member of the Tournament Players Club network, is home to a well-rated and pleasantly testing golf course. This tree-lined and open parkland layout should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. This private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.

A member of the TPC (Tournament Players Club) network, which operates over 30 public-access and private golf courses across the United States. Many of the courses are well known as host venues for PGA Tour, Champions Tour and LPGA Tour championships.

TPC Potomac at Avenel Fram, formerly known as TPC at Avenel, was a regular stop on the PGA Tour for several years. TPC Avenel played host to events such as the Kemper Open, which became the FBR Capital Open and then Booz Allen Classic (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >TPC Potomac).

Solheim Cup: can Europe defend the most prestigious team trophy in women’s professional golf, when the 17th Solheim Cup is played out at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio (Sept 4-6).

Italian Open: Nicolai Højgaard recorded his first European Tour win (Sept 5), just a week after his twin brother Rasmus landed the European Masters title (Aug 29); the first brothers to win back-to-back on the European Tour.

Who's Who:
Patrick Cantlay: moved into the world top 5, after winning the final two FedEx Cup playoff events and scooping the $15 million first prize.

Trish Johnson: kept the Senior LPGA Championship trophy in European hands, with her second win in this event in its four-year history.
