Sycamore Hills was privately owned by Jim Kelley (1918-2005) and since Jim's death by the Kelley family. Jim was raised on a farm near Auburn, Indiana. After WWII he was determined to make a living by flying, and with business partner Lester Myers started a small fixed base air service. The flying service prospered, and is now the largest general aviation service at Fort Wayne International Airport. Kelley also diversified into car sales and leasing.
