Cape Cod Natl
If you want to play the private Cape Cod National course and you don't know a member, you'll need to book an overnight stay at the nearby Wequassett Resort. The green-fee for a round here, plus the Inn's room rate represent one of the higher Stay&Play rates you'll encounter in New England.
This predominantly tree-lined parkland layout is typically presented in immaculate condition. The generally good-width holes are handsomely bunker-defended, with several benefitting from changes in elevation. Water hazards are sparingly used, but they do threaten alongside the greens of the par-5 3rd, par-3 6th and par-5 15th.
If you're keen to sample golf in the area, but on a lower budget, next door to Cape Cod National you'll find Captains Golf Club, with two championship courses occupying similar terrain and crafted by the same designer, Brian Silva.
Private club - outside visitor play is restricted to guests staying at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club, who can book to play on weekdays and weekends during golf season (March thru' Dec).
Must book in advance.
Walking permitted.
Excellent
The vision of founder John R. Pfeffer and his wife, Linda, was to "build a private club dedicated to a limited number of serious golfers who enjoy the game and the company of their fellow club members."
Cape Cod National has played host to a number of United States Golf Association (USGA) and Massachusetts Golf Association (Mass Golf) events since the 2010s, including the U.S. Amateur Championship and U.S. Women’s Open qualifiers in 2018.

Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
